Texas Sizzle

Texas Sizzle is a casual American-style steakhouse and grill at 161 Crown Street, near the Crown Street Mall in the Wollongong CBD. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables, so it works for a hearty dinner with the dog along.

The dog setup. Dogs join you at the footpath seating out front, not in the indoor dining room. The venue is popular and the kitchen runs late on weekends, so call ahead to make sure an outside table is free. Bring your own water bowl, as one is not guaranteed.

Good to know. The kitchen is known for Texan-style ribs, steak cuts, loaded schnitzels and wings, with generous portions and a full bar of wines, spirits and cocktails. The atmosphere is lively and casual.

Getting there. Texas Sizzle is on Crown Street in the central Chambers building, near the mall. Street parking runs along Crown Street and the side streets, with council car parks nearby and free mall-area parking on weekends.

Nearby with the dogs. The Crown Street Mall surrounds and the coastal paths near Flagstaff Point make for an easy on-lead walk before or after. Coniston Dog Beach, the nearest off-leash sand, is a short drive south.
