Levendi

Levendi is a casual fish and chippery and kiosk right on the water at Belmore Basin, on the lower level of Cliff Road by Wollongong Harbour. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, and the paved walkway around the basin makes it an easy stop on a harbour stroll with views of the fishing boats and marina.

The dog setup. Dogs join you in the open-air alfresco seating beside the basin, not indoors. The seating sits right on the paved harbour path, so it is easy to walk up with a dog on lead and settle in. Water bowls are often out for visiting dogs, but it is worth bringing your own bowl on a busy day.

Good to know. The draw is fresh fish and chips, calamari and gelato eaten by the water, with the lighthouse and breakwater walk a few minutes north. It is a popular pitstop on a loop around the harbour rather than a sit-down restaurant.

Getting there. Levendi is at 81 Cliff Road, Belmore Basin. There is a free car park right at the basin, though it fills on weekends; Cliff Road and the surrounding streets offer overflow parking a short walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. The Belmore Basin and breakwater paths run straight past the door for an on-lead harbour walk, and Lang Park sits just up the hill for a stretch on the grass. Coniston Dog Beach, the nearest off-leash sand, is a short drive south.
