Teddy's

Teddy's at 116 Watton Street in Werribee has entered a new era: the venue you might remember as Teddy Picker, an evening bar with wood-fired pizzas, has swapped the bar for the oven and reopened as Teddys Bakehouse, a modern artisan bakery on the same Watton Street corner. It keeps the Teddy name and the neighbourhood role, now trading from early morning rather than late night.

The dog setup

Under the old bar format, dogs were welcome in the outdoor areas, and the Watton Street strip remains a dog-friendly stretch where outdoor tables are the norm. The current daytime bakehouse has a different layout, so it is worth confirming outdoor seating for your dog with staff when you arrive; treat it as a grab-a-pastry-and-sit-outside option rather than a guaranteed beer garden sprawl. Keep your dog leashed on the footpath as required across Wyndham.

What's on the counter

The wood-fired pizza oven has given way to baking ovens: house-baked artisan loaves, daily pastries, seasonal pies and sausage rolls, plus a modern Australian breakfast and lunch menu running to brunch rolls and steak and eggs. Coffee comes with the territory, and the bakehouse opens 7am to 4.30pm every day, which makes it a natural stop after an early walk along the river.

Max: I remember the pizza era fondly, but a fresh pastry at 7am while the river path is still cool is a strong replacement.

Getting there and close by with the dogs

The bakehouse sits on Watton Street in Werribee's main strip, with free street parking around the town centre and the Werribee River trail a short walk down from the shops. For off-leash time, the Werribee diversion weir dog off leash area and Levittown Rise dog park are both nearby.
