Images is a modern Australian restaurant on Liebig Street in central Warrnambool, serving breakfast through to dinner with a full cocktail bar. For dog owners the useful part is the front verandah: a covered, sheltered outdoor area on the main street where dogs are welcome.

The dog setup

Dogs sit outside under the verandah only; the dining rooms inside stay dog-free. The cover and shade make it usable through most weather, though seating is limited and goes by space, so check ahead at busy times rather than arriving on spec.

There is no guaranteed water bowl on the tables, so pack your own. The verandah sits straight onto the Liebig Street footpath, so settled, street-calm dogs have the easier time of it.

The vibe

The kitchen is best known for its fillet steak with truffle sauce, with lamb, ribs and carbonara pulling regular praise, and the seafood basket covers the coastal side of the menu. Proper coffee and a serious cocktail list mean the verandah works for a long lunch as well as a quick one.

It is also one of the few town restaurants offering proper table service on the main strip with an outdoor option, which makes it a reliable pick for travellers on the Great Ocean Road who are not leaving the dog in the car. Weekday lunch is the quietest service; weekend dinner fills the verandah first.

The restaurant sits mid-block on Liebig Street in the Warrnambool CBD, with street parking along Liebig and the side streets and the rail station an easy walk away. Lunch service runs from midday daily.
