What visitors mention
A long-running coastal pub at 2 Ocean Street, established in 1864, with outdoor seating that looks over the park and ocean towards The Bluff and Granite Island. For dog owners it is a straightforward pub feed with a view, provided you stick to the outdoor area.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome only in the outdoor, undercover dining and seating area. Pets are not permitted in the indoor dining rooms, bar or gaming areas. The outdoor space is roomy with sea views, but bring your own collapsible bowl and treats, as it is set up primarily for human dining. Confirm with staff on arrival, especially on a busy service.
Good to know. Known for generous, traditional pub meals, fish and chips, schnitzels, steaks and a salad bar, at family-friendly prices. Live music is a regular fixture, so expect more noise and crowds on event nights.
Getting there. Free street parking sits in the immediate precinct, with free car parks close to the town centre and foreshore. The area around the pub is flat and easy to walk a dog right up to the venue.

Best for a relaxed outdoor lunch with a view; quieter outside event times. Warland Reserve and the foreshore are a short walk for a leg-stretch, but note dogs are not permitted across the Causeway to Granite Island.
