Badger & Brown's Burgerie

Badger & Brown's Burgerie sits at Shop 1A/449 Esplanade, directly opposite the beach on the Hervey Bay foreshore at Torquay. Dogs are welcome in the covered outdoor seating facing the Esplanade, which turns a burger run into the natural end point of a foreshore walk, with the water right across the road.

The dog setup

The covered outdoor dining space on the Esplanade side is where dogs go, on a lead and settled at your table. The indoor room is off limits. The footpath out front carries bikes and prams along the beachfront strip, so keep the lead short and the dog tucked in close. Bring a water bowl from the car; the staff are easygoing but the tables are close enough that a settled dog makes the visit better for everyone.

Max: time your visit for the Sunday lunch window, 11am to 2:30pm. The kitchen shuts early that day and after that the smart move is a foreshore walk instead.

Worth knowing

The burgers are the whole point and locals rate them among the best on the bay: the Angry Badger and the Mother Clucker are the standout orders, the Chuck Norris has its own following, and the loaded fries and sweet potato fries do the sides properly. There are genuine gluten-free options for both burgers and wings. Hours run Tuesday to Thursday 4pm to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 8pm and Sunday 11am to 2:30pm, with Monday closed, so dinner is the reliable slot midweek.

Getting there and parking

The shop fronts the Esplanade in the Torquay stretch of Hervey Bay, and street parking runs along the beachfront out front. It is a flat, walkable strip, and the paved foreshore path continues in both directions for an on-lead stroll before or after eating.

Close by with the dogs

For proper off-lead time, the Scarness beach Dogs off leash 24/7 area is a short drive up the coast, while the Torquay and Shelley Beach foreshore runs timed off-lead hours under Fraser Coast Regional Council rules, so read the signage at your access point. For another sit-down option with water views, Aquavue Beachfront Bar & Eatery is close by, and Bayaroma Cafe covers the morning coffee shift.
