Salisbury Hotel

The Salisbury Hotel is a Stanmore institution trading since 1899, at 118 Percival Road a short stroll from Stanmore Railway Station. Unusually for an inner-west pub, the welcome is broad: well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed across most of the venue, not just a token corner of the footpath.

The dog setup

Leashed dogs are welcome in the beer garden, the hall, the loft and even the public bar. The only off-limits zone is The Booths, a separate area you can simply walk past. The leafy beer garden is the pick for dogs, with room to settle out of the foot traffic, and the staff are used to regular four-legged visitors and put water bowls out. Carry a bowl on busy sport nights when the garden fills.

Worth knowing

The pub does solid, family-friendly pub meals with lunch and dinner sessions on weekdays and longer service across weekends, plus live sport on the screens and regular live music and events. The beer garden is the standout space and books out on sunny weekends, so claim a table early. Sunday closes earlier than the rest of the week.

Getting there and parking

The pub sits on Percival Road at Temple Street, right next to Stanmore Station on the T3 Bankstown line, with buses along Stanmore Road. For drivers, there is a car park at the Percival Lane West entrance with 2-hour parking from 8am to 6pm, and street parking in the surrounding residential streets.

Close by with the dogs

Weekley Park runs along Percival Road nearby and has a timed off-leash zone between Percival Road and the central path: dogs run free from 5pm to 9am in daylight saving and 4pm to 9am in winter months. For a fenced run, the Enmore Fenced Dog Park and the Lewisham West off-leash area are both close. The Golden Barley Hotel at Enmore is another dog-friendly pub option down the road.
