The Banff

The Banff is a cosy cafe and restaurant on the corner of Fitzroy Street and Canterbury Road (145 Fitzroy Street), with a rustic, warm feel and a dog-friendly reputation among locals.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, with plenty of room along the Fitzroy Street footpath for a dog to settle beside your table. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl for a city outing.

Good to know. It is a relaxed breakfast and lunch spot, well regarded for its coffee and sticky date pudding, with the Waffle Benny among the popular brunch picks.

Getting there. The 96 and 16 trams serve Fitzroy Street. Street parking on Fitzroy Street is limited, with more on Canterbury Road and the surrounding residential streets, so check the signs.

Nearby with the dogs. Catani Gardens and St Kilda Pier are a short walk toward the sea (check the seasonal on- and off-leash rules), with Albert Park Lake a longer walk away.
