Worth knowing

The panorama over St Georges Basin is the drawcard, but the kitchen has its own following: the signature French toast, fresh poke bowls and a spread of breakfast and lunch plates with vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus a kids menu. Doors open 8am to 2pm Monday to Saturday, with Sunday breakfast running from around 7am in busy periods. Bookings are worth making for weekend waterfront tables.

Getting there and parking

The pavilion sits on Island Point Road on the western shore of the basin. Parking is free, with a car park plus street parking nearby, and the approach is flat and easy for dogs of any age. It is a genuinely quick detour off the main run between Nowra and Jervis Bay.

Close by with the dogs

Paved footpaths line much of the St Georges Basin foreshore for an easy on-lead walk before or after your meal, and the Sanctuary Point boat ramp and foreshore are a short drive with waterside tracks. For an off-lead stretch first, Clifton Park Fenced Dog Park at Sanctuary Point is minutes away; check posted signage for any leash-free sections at the basin's Palm Beach.
