Flavour lounge toowoomba

Flavour Lounge is a casual Indian and Nepalese restaurant at Shop 6, 192 James Street in the Red Edge complex, South Toowoomba, trading lunch and dinner most days from 11am, with a later-evening start on Saturdays. Dogs are welcome at the covered outdoor tables out the front.

The dog setup

The covered footpath seating in front of the shop is where dogs go, on a lead and settled beside the table. The complex's shared outdoor area makes arrival easy, with no need to pass through the dining room. Only assistance animals go inside, and there is no dedicated dog service, so pack a water bowl and a mat.

Worth knowing

The menu runs past the usual curry house list: momos in steamed, fried and jhol styles, chaat like samosa chaat and pani puri, goat curry, chicken tikka masala and prawn mango curry, plus a solid vegetarian and vegan selection. Family feast deals keep it budget-friendly for groups. It is a locals' venue rather than a destination, which suits an easy outdoor dinner after an evening walk. Saturday opens in the late afternoon, so plan weekend lunches elsewhere.

Getting there and parking

James Street is one of South Toowoomba's main retail strips, and the Red Edge complex has a large free car park directly in front, so the walk from car to outdoor table is only a few metres.

Queens Park dog off-leash area is the standout green space a short drive north, and Ruthmor Villas is the cafe option in the same suburb. The Picnic Point cafe is worth the detour for the escarpment views.
