Swiftee's Snack Shack

Swiftee's Snack Shack at 22 Quarry Road, South Murwillumbah has been firing the smoker for more than 40 years, and the house-smoked brisket and pork coming off it are reason enough to swing through the industrial estate with the dog in tow. It is a classic tradie smoko shop, and the roadside outdoor seating is where dogs are welcome.

The counter runs Monday to Friday only, opening at 5am and closing at 2pm, with weekends and public holidays dark. The legendary bacon and egg rolls and breakfast muffins come out early, then the day rolls through sandwiches, burgers, hot-box staples, alternating home-style lunch plates and proper coffee. The smoker runs through the morning, and specials like smoked brisket gravy rolls land mid-morning, so smoko is the sweet spot for a fresh feed. It is built for speed: order, sit at the roadside tables and go.

Getting there and parking

The shack sits in the South Murwillumbah Industrial Estate, a few minutes' drive from the Murwillumbah town centre, straightforward to reach off the main road. Street parking is plentiful directly out front and around the block, so you can leave the dog in short-term comfort while grabbing the order if the tables are full.
