Suriano's

Suriano's is a family-run Italian pizzeria, cafe and deli at 9 Courage Street in Sippy Downs, on the Sunshine Coast, and locals rate its wood-fired sourdough pizza among the best on the coast. The front footpath tables take dogs, and the venue's own feed shows happy diners seated outside with theirs, which makes it an easy post-walk dinner stop.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables; the inside dining room is off limits. Keep your dog leashed and tucked in beside the table, and bring a collapsible water bowl because the staff are welcoming but a bowl is not guaranteed. On busy nights the front tables sit close together with plenty of foot traffic past them, so if your dog is crowd shy, aim for an earlier sitting when the footpath is calmer.

The vibe

The kitchen is Neapolitan in spirit: wood-fired pizzas on house sourdough bases, including gluten free, plus starters like Focaccia Di Recco, bruschetta and burrata al forno. The pastry cabinet rotates through cannoli, sfogliatelle and tiramisu, and there is gelato for the walk home. The deli side stocks imported Italian dry goods, pasta and drinks alongside fresh panini. Hours run 4pm to 9pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, closed Tuesday, and Friday to Sunday add a lunch service from 11am to 2pm with dinner through to 9pm.

Getting there and parking

Courage Street sits in the Sippy Downs town hub near the university precinct, with street parking generally available directly outside or on surrounding streets. It is an easy walk for locals in Sippy Downs and nearby Buderim, and the pedestrian paths through the Chancellor Village area make a short loop before or after dinner.

While you're out there

For a proper off leash run, Elizabeth Daniels Park Fenced Dog Park at Buderim and Brightwater Park Fenced Dog Park at Mountain Creek are both close by. Sippy Social covers the coffee stop in the same suburb, and Chancellors Tavern is the other dog-friendly dining option nearby.
