Boss Burger café

Boss Burger café is the gourmet burger stop in the Redland Bay Shopping Village at 163 Broadwater Terrace, doing fresh, generously built burgers, crispy chips and house-made sauces from 7:30am. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, which sit straight off the shared car park with step-free access, so it doubles as an easy post-beach or post-park feed with the dog on the way home.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor seating area, kept on lead and settled beside the table; it is a food-service venue, so indoors stays people only. Water bowls are not always set out, so bring your own to be sure. The tables sit in an open shopping-village setting, which suits a calm dog that will lie still through a quick lunch rather than a restless one at Friday dinner hour.

The vibe

The kitchen is known for flavour-packed house-made burgers: the Boss with the lot and the Smokey among the beef builds, a Reuben burger, grilled chicken options and a vegetarian patty, with chips and the house sauces doing half the talking. There is a kids cheeseburger, all-day breakfast with eggs benedict and a mint lychee frappe for the driver. Hours run 7:30am to 2pm on Sunday and Monday, with the longer trade, to 7:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, so a dinner run needs a weekday or weekend-night slot and a quick confirm before you go.

Getting there

The shopping village has a large free car park straight off Broadwater Terrace, and the Redland Bay foreshore with its grassy stretches along the water is a short walk away for an on-lead leg before the burgers.

For the off-lead half of the day, School Of Arts Rd Dog Parks is fully fenced with airlock gates and separate big- and small-dog yards, and Point Talburpin Dog Park puts the run on the waterfront.
