Mt. Terrasse runs the full day on Mount Eliza Way: espresso from 6am, eggs benedict and croissants through the morning, then tapas, mussels, calamari and a wine list from late afternoon. The name is a nod to a European street terrace, and the outdoor tables facing the village footpath are exactly where dogs are welcome. Thursday to Saturday the kitchen pushes on to 8:30pm, so it works as a dinner option too.

The dog setup

Dogs sit on the outdoor terrace, which has its own street access so you can settle in from the pavement without walking through the indoor dining room. The terrace catches the sun across the day and staff are relaxed about well-mannered dogs at the tables. There is no published dog menu, so bring your own water bowl to be safe and order your dog's human company instead.

The vibe

Think corner bistro rather than fine dining: floor-to-ceiling street-facing windows indoors, casual seating on the terrace, and a crowd that shifts from laptop-and-flat-white mornings to tapas and live music evenings. The all-day menu covers breakfast classics, Mediterranean-leaning shared plates and seafood, with an espresso bar and happy-hour drinks in between. Wheelchair-accessible entry and seating make it an easy stop for mixed groups, and bookings are worth making for weekend dinner slots.

You'll find it at Shop 2, 87 Mount Eliza Way, in the middle of the Mount Eliza village. Free street parking sits out front and along the side streets, so tying the visit to a walk through the village is straightforward. Weekday mornings close at 3pm; check the board for Thursday-to-Saturday evening service.

Close by with the dogs

Make a day of it in the village: Ezra Next Door up the road keeps a puppy menu with puppaccinos for a morning coffee stop, and John Butler Reserve gives your dog a fully fenced run before lunch.
