Cobb Road Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Cobb Road Reserve's fenced dog park is a large, L-shaped enclosure in Mount Eliza, running roughly 100 metres along each side, which gives dogs a genuine straight to open up on. It is a quiet, friendly local park rather than a busy social hub, and the low-fuss setup suits owners who want space over facilities.

The dog setup

The perimeter is fully fenced with a gate-managed entry: stay on lead until you are through the gate and re-leash before leaving. Inside is open grass with basic seating and a couple of large gum trees doing the shade work. Off-leash applies only inside the fence, and across the wider reserve dogs must stay 20 metres clear of any playground, BBQ or picnic area.

Voice or hand control is expected at all times, and waste goes in the bin in the north-east corner. It is a simple setup, and knowing that before you arrive is most of the preparation done.

Worth knowing

Max: no tap and patchy shade mean this one bites in summer. Bring more water than you think you need, help top up the community bottle crate if it is running low, and skip the middle of a hot day.

There is no official water tap, and no supplied bags either, so self-sufficiency is the theme. A community-run milk-crate setup with plastic bottles is often stocked at the gate, which says most of what you need to know about how this park runs: locals keep it going themselves.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits off Cobb Road, easily reached from the Nepean Highway, with street parking along the road itself. It is a drive-to park; the nearest stations are not walkable, so plan around the car.

Crowds are rare even on weekends, with Thursday mornings the busiest stretch and Sunday evenings among the quietest.
