Brass Monkey is a heritage warehouse cafe at 149 Eighth Street in central Mildura, doing creative brunch and good coffee in a century-old building. For dog owners it is a footpath-seating spot: bring your dog to the pavement tables along Eighth Street and settle in for people-watching in the city heart.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating along Eighth Street. As a health-regulated indoor kitchen, the inside dining room is off-limits to pets. Eighth Street is a high-traffic stretch, so a portable water bowl is worth packing rather than counting on one being free.

Good to know. The kitchen leans into bold, share-style brunch plates and indulgent sweets, with the Dubai chocolate French toast a standout. Open Wednesday to Sunday, roughly 7:30am to 3pm.

Getting there. It is central on Eighth Street. On-street parking runs along Eighth Street but fills up; the surrounding CityHeart car parks are the backup.

Nearby with the dogs. Langtree Mall is a couple of blocks away for a pedestrian-friendly wander, and the Mildura riverfront with the Rio Vista fenced dog park is a short drive or solid walk for an off-leash run afterwards.

Aim for a weekday mid-morning if you want an easy footpath table. Weekend brunch is the busiest window and the pavement seating is limited.
