Cowaramup Brewing Company

Cowaramup Brewing Company is a country-style craft brewery at 229 Treeton Road North on Bussell Highway, a few minutes south of Cowaramup and about ten from Margaret River. It pours German-style beers and the kitchen turns out proper brewpub food, and the brewery's own dog-friendly page confirms dogs are genuinely welcome across the grassed outdoor areas, which is why it works as a family-and-dog stop on a winery run.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the grassed outdoor seating and surrounding decking, not indoors, and they must stay on a lead with owners supervising closely. There is room to spread out on the lawn with rural views, and staff are used to visiting dogs. One quirk from the brewery itself: resident brewery cat Molly patrols the place, so keep an eye on your dog if she appears.

The beer and the menu

The draw is the beer, especially the Cowaramup Pilsener and the German-style Hefeweizen, with a chocolate porter and a cider filling out the taps. The kitchen matches it: the Brewery Burger, Pilsener-battered fish and chips, a beef and porter pie and wood-fired-style pizzas including the Cowaramup Special, plus vegetarian and vegan options. Kitchen hours run midday to about 3pm weekdays and to 3:30pm weekends, with Friday locals' nights extending into the evening in summer, so time lunch accordingly.

Getting there and parking

The brewery sits on the corner of Bussell Highway and Treeton Road North with ample free gravel parking directly out front, which makes arriving with a dog straightforward.

For a walk beforehand, the Wadandi Track is a shared limestone rail-trail through bush and vineyards where dogs are welcome on a lead. Several cellar doors on Treeton Road North also take dogs, with LS Merchants just up the road, making an easy brewery-plus-winery loop.
