Woodstack

Woodstack is a casual woodfired barbecue spot at 123 Greenoaks Dr, Coolum Beach, a short turn off the David Low Way corridor. The kitchen runs morning coffee sessions through the week and fires the ironbark smoker for proper BBQ sessions on Friday and Saturday, with well-behaved dogs welcome at the outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor seating on a lead, settled beside the table. Staff have a reputation for accommodating four-legged visitors and often keep treats on hand. Water bowls are not guaranteed, so a portable bowl is worth packing. Indoors stays people only, assistance animals excepted, per standard food-safety rules.

Worth knowing

The schedule matters here. Monday to Thursday runs 6:30am to 11am as a coffee and bakery-style morning. Friday goes 6:30am to 1pm and again 4:30pm to 8pm, and Saturday 7:30am to 1pm and 4:30pm to 8pm, with the smoker fired for those sessions and live music from about 5:30pm on Fridays. Sunday closes. When the smoker is on, expect ironbark-smoked brisket smoked for over ten hours and sold plated or by weight, the Woodstacker platter with pork ribs, the cheesy chipstack, and a smoky bacon and egg burger at weekend breakfast.

Getting there and parking

Greenoaks Drive branches off David Low Way in the Coolum precinct, with street parking nearby and public car parks behind the beachfront shops a short walk away. It is an easy drive-in from Peregian or an on-lead stroll down from the main strip.

While you're out there

Coolum Beach off-leash dog beach is the natural pre-lunch leg-stretcher, and Stumers Creek gives dogs a creek-and-grass run close by. The foreshore trail to Point Arkwright is the longer on-lead option. Canteen Kitchen and Bar is the sit-down alternative in town.
