Hummingbird Busselton

Hummingbird is a busy, modern cafe-restaurant at 60-66 Queen Street in the heart of Busselton, drawing on Margaret River produce for a hearty breakfast and brunch menu. It opens 7:30am to 2:30pm every day, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, so a slow brunch with a leashed dog at your feet is very much the local way to do it.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, which is roomy enough to settle a leashed dog comfortably beside the table. Inside is reserved for service dogs. Staff are generally welcoming, but bring your own water bowl to be safe on busy mornings. Because it is a popular spot, the outdoor tables move quickly on weekends, so arriving before 9am on a Sunday makes life easier for both of you.

Max: Long black for me, the Superfood Goreng for the table, and the dog got half my bacon. Nobody batted an eye.

The food

The kitchen leans on locally sourced Margaret River produce, with a brunch list built around generous plates. Standouts include the lemon myrtle calamari and the Superfood Goreng, alongside the usual eggs, burgers and strong coffee the venue is known for. Breakfast and lunch run daily, and it is a sit-down stop rather than a grab-and-go, so it suits a dog that will settle through a meal.

Getting there and parking

The venue sits on Queen Street in central Busselton, an easy flat walk from the town centre and a short drive from the foreshore. Free street parking runs along Queen Street, with free off-street parking nearby, so parking with a dog on lead is straightforward outside of the morning rush.

Close by with the dogs

For a morning coffee run, Poppy and Pip is another Busselton favourite that welcomes dogs, and the The Tav covers the pub end of town. Across in Geographe, Periscope Cafe is handy to the dog exercise beaches along the coast.
