19XO Canapés & Cocktails

19XO Canapés & Cocktails is a small, intimate cocktail bar on the Torquay foreshore strip of the Hervey Bay Esplanade, and dogs are welcome at the front outdoor seating while you work through a canapé board and a bespoke cocktail. It is an evening venue, so think sundowner rather than lunch stop.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating along the front of the venue, which looks out over the Esplanade. Keep your dog on a leash and settled beside your table, out of the footpath flow. It is a compact venue, so bring your own water bowl and check with staff on arrival in case a private function has changed the seating setup.

The vibe

The bar is known for its cocktail list, a solid wine and spirits selection, and gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards with upscale canapés. Behind the main room is a back room with a pool table and board games, which gives the place a loose, holiday-town feel. Because the room is small and the crowd is there for conversation, it suits a calm, socialised dog that can ignore passing pedestrians.

Getting there and hours

The bar is at 414B Esplanade, Torquay, and street parking runs along the Esplanade, getting busy at peak evening hours. It trades evenings only: Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 9pm, Friday from 2pm and Saturday from midday, both through to midnight, and closed Sunday to Tuesday.

Close by with the dogs

The foreshore walking paths are directly opposite, and the Scarness beach dogs off leash 24/7 area is a short drive west for a proper run on the sand before dinner. Down at the Urangan end, the 24/7 off-leash dog beach covers another stretch of legal off-lead sand.
