Timboon Fine Ice Cream

Timboon Fine Ice Cream is an artisanal ice cream shop on Timboon's main street at 1A Bailey Street, and one of the few spots in town that makes a genuine fuss of dogs, right down to a dog-specific ice cream on the menu. It runs daily from 11am to 5pm.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating out front, but the retail shop itself is off limits as food-handling space indoors. Order at the counter and settle in outside with your dog. The headline act for four-legged visitors is Scoopys, a low-sugar, low-lactose dog ice cream with inulin fibre made to be safe for dogs to eat, and worth asking for by name since not every shop keeps a dog menu on hand.

The vibe

The human side of the cabinet is premium and creamy, with small-batch flavours such as salted caramel, whiskey cream and honeycomb, plus sorbets and seasonal oddities like rhubarb, licorice and apple pie, all made from local non-homogenised milk. Service is quick and the stop is short by design: grab a scoop, take a seat out front, and be on your way.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits on the main street at 1A Bailey Street, Timboon, in the heart of the town's small commercial strip. Street parking out front and on the adjacent streets is usually easy to find, including with a dog waiting in the car between stops.

Make a day of it

This is a natural stop either side of a walk on the Timboon-Camperdown Rail Trail, which starts nearby and gives your dog a proper run on a quiet gravel corridor. Berry World PYO Strawberries is a fun seasonal add-on in town, and if you are continuing to the coast, Daysy Hill Country Cottages at Port Campbell takes dogs.
