Urban Ground

Urban Ground runs an open-air food truck precinct with terrace seating at 1 Lamana Road in Mordialloc, and its own FAQ settles the dog question plainly: dogs are more than welcome in the outdoor areas and must stay on a leash. Because the entire venue is essentially outdoors, the dog policy covers most of the action rather than a token corner of it.

The dog setup

The format makes the logistics easy: food trucks ring the terrace, you order what you like from each, and everyone regroups at an outdoor table with the dog on leash underfoot. The kitchen hours run from Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening, with the Friday-to-Sunday sessions stretching late, so it is a dinner-and-drinks venue rather than a lunch habit. The lineup leans healthy and modern: vegan options are a fixture, cider and craft beers cover the drinks, and there is a kids area, so it skews family-friendly rather than pub-rowdy. The rotation of trucks changes, which is part of the draw, and it means the dog gets the same walk but a different menu each visit. On a fine evening the terrace is as good as this format gets for dog owners, and since each truck handles its own service you can order a round of water for the dog from whichever one is least slammed. On wet nights there is no indoor fallback worth counting on, so check the forecast before committing a long drive.

Lamana Road is off the Nepean Highway side of Mordialloc, so pair the precinct with the bay.
