The Marsden Brewhouse

The Marsden Brewhouse is a large family friendly brewhouse in the Marsden Park Home Hub, pouring its own beers alongside a bistro menu of schnitzels, pork knuckle and wood fired pizza. It is a big, busy place with live music on weekends, and dogs have a clearly defined spot to join you.

The dog setup

The venue's own FAQ is specific: dogs are permitted only in the designated front courtyard area. They are not allowed inside the main dining rooms, the sports bar or the other outdoor dining zones, a line the venue attributes to NSW liquor licensing and food safety rules. Staff enforce it, so ask for a front courtyard table when you book rather than taking your chances at the door.

Water bowls are generally available in the courtyard, but it is worth confirming with staff on the day. Keep your dog on a lead and settled at your table, because the courtyard sits near the children's playground and the foot traffic is constant.

The vibe

This is a volume venue rather than a quiet local. The kitchen turns out pub classics at scale, the tap list is long and weekends fill up with families taking advantage of the playground. Getting there and parking

The brewhouse is at 29 Hawthorne Avenue, Marsden Park, in the Home Hub precinct, with a large free car park directly out front. It is a straightforward drive off Richmond Road, and the hours run late most nights, from 10am to around 3am Monday to Saturday and midday Sunday.

Close by with the dogs

Before or after your meal, the fenced run at Reserve 1118 Fenced Dog Park is a short drive away and gives your dog a proper off-leash stretch. For a morning coffee in the same suburb, The Baristas' Shed on Hollinsworth Road has outdoor seating that welcomes dogs.
