Smug Club

Smug Club is a fast-casual sandwich and coffee spot at 1/31 to 37 Dreamworld Parkway in Coomera, open Wednesday to Sunday from 7am. It is built around stacked focaccia sandwiches and specialty coffee, with a bold, unpretentious streak that shows up in everything from the branding to the portions.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor-facing seating, where a well-settled dog can sit alongside you while you eat. Indoors is not the move for dogs here, so plan on an outside table. The team is used to patrons rolling up with dogs, but bring your own water bowl rather than counting on one.

The vibe

The focaccias come loaded with quality deli meats, think mortadella, salami and poached chicken, with house-made sauces and daily specials, and the fries can be loaded too. Drinks run to specialty coffee, matcha, house-made sodas and cold-foam numbers. Service is quick, portions are generous, and the whole thing skews grab-and-go through to a casual outdoor lunch.

Getting there and parking

It sits in the Dreamworld Parkway complex on the northern Gold Coast, with free on-site parking and more in the surrounding complex. It is a straightforward car trip, and the closing time of 3pm makes it a breakfast and lunch proposition rather than dinner. Weekends get busy, so an early session is the relaxed one.
