The Graveyard Bar

The Graveyard Bar & Bandroom sits on the Sydney Road strip near the corner of Gaffney Street in Coburg North, pairing a live music venue with a heated beer garden. Dogs are welcome with owners in the garden, which is where you will want to be anyway before a gig.

The dog setup

Dogs stay in the outdoor, heated beer garden; the indoor bandroom is a live music space, so keep your dog at your feet under the open sky.

Bring your own water bowl to be safe, and because live bands are the whole point here, noise-sensitive dogs will do far better on a quiet afternoon than during an evening set. The venue is still young, so a quick message ahead confirms dogs are welcome on the day.

The vibe

This is a rock-and-roll local: live bands and DJs in the bandroom, trivia nights, rotating food trucks and Malaysian food from Hungry Lah alongside a well-stocked bar.

It opens late afternoon from Wednesday to Friday and from mid afternoon on weekends, closing Mondays and Tuesdays. Trivia lands on Thursdays and the gig calendar runs most weekends, so check ahead for what is on.

Max: a band venue is not the spot for a sound-shy dog. Aim for a quiet daytime window in the beer garden and skip the gig nights.

Getting there and parking

The bar is at 942-948 Sydney Road, Coburg North. Trams run along Sydney Road, and street parking sits in the surrounding residential streets, so check the signage.
