The Camfield

The Camfield is Australia's largest pub, and it wears the title lightly: 175 beer taps across five bars, an onsite microbrewery and a kitchen that runs non-stop from 11am until late, all sitting about 160 metres from Optus Stadium on the Burswood Peninsula. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden, which makes the big riverside deck one of the more reliable dog-friendly pints in Perth.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed across the outdoor beer garden and deck seating, kept on lead and settled beside your table; the indoor bars and restaurant are off limits. Dog-friendly access applies daily until 4pm, and on major Optus Stadium event days the beer garden generally closes to dogs altogether because of the crowds, so check the stadium calendar before you build a visit around a match. Water bowls are kept around the outdoor area, and the bar sometimes has dog treats on hand. Staff are used to dogs, even on busy afternoons.

Max: They provide dog bowls with water and nobody blinks at a greyhound sprawled under a table. Go before four and outside of game day and it is the easiest big-pub session in Perth.

What is on tap and on the plate

The microbrewery pours its own beers alongside the tap range, and the menu covers proper pub staples: chicken parmigiana, the Camfield steak sandwich, beer-battered fish and chips, wood-fired pizzas and pulled beef sliders. There are weekly specials too, with $25 porterhouse on Mondays and $25 parmigiana on Tuesdays, though both are paused on stadium event days. Walk-ins work for small groups; tables for six or more can be booked ahead.

Getting there and parking

The address is 1 Roger Mackay Drive, Burswood. Free off-street parking sits next to the venue and is usually fine on non-event days, but on major Optus Stadium event days there is no public parking on-site or close by, so the train to Stadium Station or the walk across Matagarup Bridge from East Perth is the better plan. The pub opens from 11am daily, running to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Pair it with a walk

The paved Swan River foreshore loop starts close by and suits an on-lead riverside walk either side of lunch, and the parklands around the stadium give a dog somewhere to stretch before you sit down. If your dog needs a proper off-lead run first, GO Edwards Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive across Burswood.
