Vann Street Park - Dog Off Leash Area

Vann Street Park is Wilsonton's local off-leash area, a large open grassy block at the end of Vann Street run by Toowoomba Regional Council, with enough room for a proper run rather than just a lap on the lead.

The rules. Off-leash applies only within the signed, designated area, dogs must go back on lead in the surrounding parkland. Council requires dogs to stay under effective voice control at all times, and an aggressive or unsettled dog needs to be leashed immediately. Pick up after your dog, bins are provided on-site.

What's there. Fenced sections suit both small and large dogs, with basic seating for owners and established trees giving some shade, though not a lot. There is no on-site water, so bring a bottle and bowl for your dog.

Getting there. Access is directly off Vann Street, Wilsonton, with free street parking. Local Translink bus services run nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. Cafe 63 and other cafes in the Wilsonton Shopping Centre are a short drive away for a coffee stop after the park.

Weekday mornings and mid-morning on weekends are the quiet windows, Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons draw the biggest crowds. If it's packed, Clearview Street Park (Black Gully) is a nearby alternative.
