Vann Street Park - Dog Off Leash Area

Vann Street Park is Wilsonton's local off leash ground: a large open grassy block at the end of Vann Street under Toowoomba Regional Council, where the entire park area is designated off leash. There is no perimeter fencing, so it suits dogs with solid recall rather than those who need an enclosure.

The dog setup

Council designates the whole park as an unfenced off leash zone, and the condition is effective voice control at all times. If your dog becomes aggressive or unsettled, the rules say it goes back on lead immediately. Bags and bins are provided on site, and picking up is enforced. Established trees give some shade over the open grass, and there is basic seating for owners, but no on-site water, so carry a bottle and a bowl.

Worth knowing

This is a neighbourhood park, not a destination dog park: expect locals with a couple of laps of the grass rather than an agility setup. Weekday mornings and mid morning weekends are the quiet windows; Saturday mornings and after school afternoons draw the biggest crowds. Because it is unfenced and close to streets at the park edge, it is worth walking the boundary with your dog on the first visit so they learn where the limits are.

Getting there and parking

Access is directly off Vann Street in Wilsonton, on Toowoomba's western side, with free street parking along the frontage. Translink bus routes service the surrounding streets if you are coming without a car.
