The Evelyn Halliday Reserve

The Evelyn Halliday Reserve at 18 Wright Road, Stirling is the two-acre bushland block that holds the Adelaide Hills Council's fenced off-leash dog park. The dog setup

The off-leash area is fully fenced with double-gated entries and a separate small-dog section, set among native bush with shady walking loops, agility logs and a shallow creek that runs after rain. Dogs are off-leash inside the fence under effective voice control, and leashed in the car park and the surrounding reserve. Bins and bags are provided, and dogs should not be left unattended.

Worth knowing

Hours are 7am to sunset on weekdays and 9am to sunset on weekends and public holidays. The ground is natural bushland rather than lawn, so it can be muddy after wet weather, and the creek crossing is shallow but not always dry. The reserve sits in a leafy part of Stirling, so it stays cool in summer and shaded most of the day.

Getting there and parking

The reserve is at 18 Wright Road, Stirling, with an off-street car park right by the entrance. It is a short drive up the freeway from Adelaide and an easy stop if you are passing through the hills. There is no dedicated public transport to the gate, so arriving by car is the practical option.

Make a day of it
