A large open green space at 2a McMahon Road, roughly 250 by 120 metres of mostly grass, open off-leash 24/7. The size is the point: plenty of room for ball games and energetic dogs, in a relaxed residential setting.

The rules. Off-leash anytime, but dogs must be under effective voice control. A fenced playground sits on the eastern border and dogs must stay outside it. Pick up after your dog; there are bins, though locals note they fill up. Being in a residential pocket, keep noise neighbourly.

What's there. Unshaded perimeter seating and some trees, but the area is largely open, so bring your own water for the dog. The space is generally well contained.

Getting there. Near the end of McMahon Road, with street parking on surrounding streets. It is around 1 to 1.5km from the Keon Parade rail area, so check current Metro and bus routes for the closest stop.

Watch-outs. The nearby creek has steep banks, so take care with smaller or less confident dogs.

Busiest on weekend mornings and weekday evenings after work. Midweek mornings, early afternoons, and late Sunday afternoon are calmer. Good for big runners and social play.
