What visitors mention
Gamburra Drive Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park on Huntley Crescent in Redlynch, with the drawcard being direct creek access so dogs can swim as well as run. It is one of Cairns Regional Council's dedicated dog exercise areas, popular with local families and well used on weekday afternoons.
The rules. Dogs must be off-leash only inside the fenced boundary; keep them leashed in the car park and on the approach. Council requires owners to carry a lead and keep voice control at all times. Clean up after your dog immediately.
What's there. Shade trees, a shelter with benches, and a fenced double-gate entry so dogs can't bolt while you're getting sorted. The creek itself is the water source inside the park; there is no confirmed tap right at the off-leash area, so bring a bottle and bowl. Bring your own bags as a backup even though they are sometimes stocked.
The water. The freshwater creek runs along the park and is a genuine swimming spot for dogs, best after dry spells when the flow is gentler. Flow picks up noticeably in the wet season, so check conditions before letting a dog straight in.

Getting there. The park is at 5 Huntley Crescent, Redlynch, with off-street parking on site and easy access from Kamerunga Road. Sunbus services run through Redlynch Village nearby, with a short walk to Huntley Crescent from the closest stop.
Nearby with the dogs. Generation Coffee and Juice Bar in central Redlynch has outdoor seating that welcomes dogs, an easy stop before or after a run around the park.
Go on a weekday morning if you want the fenced area to yourself; Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings are the busiest. Good for dogs that love a swim and need proper room to run, with the shade making it workable even on a warm Cairns day.
