Oxley Fenced Agility Dog Park 2 of 2

This is the smaller fenced agility enclosure at the Englefield Road Park dog off-leash area in Oxley, set apart from the main large-dog field next door. It trades open running room for interest: timber planks, a sand pit and nature-play style elements for dogs that want more than a flat lawn.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced enclosure, with the rest of the reserve on lead. Stay with your dog and keep voice control, and clean up immediately using the shared bins. The enclosure shares its water points, waste bins and double-gated entry with the main Englefield Road fenced park, so the standards are the same as the big yard beside it.

Fair use matters in a space built around obstacles: let other dogs take turns on the timber planks and sand pit rather than monopolising them, and give room to any dog that seems unsure about the equipment. Not every dog enjoys agility gear, and crowding a nervous dog at an obstacle is how scuffles start.

Max: plank, pit, repeat. It is a playground for dogs, and the small footprint means I always know where everyone is.

For dogs working on confidence, the agility elements double as low-stakes training gear: a few calm passes over the planks with treats builds sure-footedness that carries onto trails and stairs. If the enclosure is crowded when you arrive, the main field next door is the pressure valve, and you can circle back once it clears.

Worth knowing

Reviews here are thin so far, but it earns its place as the backup when the main field is busy or when your dog prefers a smaller, busier-smelling space to explore. The sand pit turns to mud after heavy rain, so check the ground before you commit; the timber elements stay usable in most weather.

Getting there and parking

Access is the same as Englefield Road Park: off Englefield Road in Oxley with free street parking, and about a 15-minute walk from Oxley train station for those arriving by rail.
