Inner North Dog Park

Inner North Dog Park is a fully fenced, dedicated off-leash park on Fairbridge Street in O'Connor. It has two separate enclosed areas, so you can split large, boisterous dogs from small or timid ones, and it's a genuine local hub for the inner north's off-leash crowd.

The rules. Dogs must stay under effective control at all times, even off-leash. Owners must pick up and bin all droppings. Move away from the entrance gate quickly after coming in, bottlenecks at the gate are a common trigger for scuffles. Food and toys are generally discouraged inside the enclosures to avoid resource guarding fights, and dogs should never be left unattended.

What's there. Both areas are fully fenced. Water points with self-draining bowls are on site, along with benches for owners and shelters for shade or rain. The ground is a mix of grass and dirt, with some patches known to be rocky or carrying burrs, worth a check of paws after a visit.

Getting there. The park is at Fairbridge Street, O'Connor ACT 2602, with a gravel car park on site. Access roads can be a little uneven in wet weather. It's best reached by car, though it's an easy walk for O'Connor locals.

Nearby with the dogs. The O'Connor shops are a short trip away, with cafes such as Sly Fox Coffee offering outdoor seating for dogs. Lyneham's shops are a short drive further, with more outdoor-friendly cafes.

Weekday afternoons from about 4:30pm to 6pm and weekend mornings from 9am to 11am are the busiest, good if your dog wants high-energy play, best avoided if they're nervous around crowds. Mid-morning on weekdays is quieter, and the ground can turn muddy after rain.
