Seagull Paddock Dog Park

Seagull Paddock is a large, open off-leash reserve on the Norlane and North Geelong boundary, built around a central lagoon where dogs can swim. The combination of wide-open running space and a proper water feature is the defining reason to make the trip.

The rules. Off-leash access is permitted across the reserve, but your dog must be under effective control at all times. Dogs must be on-leash in surrounding public spaces, including the car park, unless signage specifically states otherwise. What's there. A walking track circles the central lagoon, giving the park a clear, scenic loop. The lagoon itself is the main draw for water-loving dogs and provides a genuine swimming hole. Getting there. By car, the park sits just off Melbourne Road, the Princes Highway, with Birdwood Avenue as the primary access road. North Geelong train station on the V/Line network is a short distance away, though a car is far more practical when visiting with a dog.

Watch-outs. Lagoon water levels fluctuate. Check conditions after heavy rain, and if your dog is prone to snacking on aquatic plants, keep a close eye on them around the weeds.
