Maryborough Off Leash Dog park

This is Maryborough's Neptune Street off-leash area, the town's main fenced dog park (also listed as Rambo Dog Park). It is a large, fully enclosed grass reserve with separate runs for big and small dogs, open 24/7.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash only inside the fenced area, and on-leash when entering and leaving through the double gates. Keep your dog under effective voice control throughout, and use the correct large-dog or small-dog section. Any dog showing aggression must be leashed and removed at once, and owners pick up after their dogs - bag dispensers are usually on site.

What is there. Double-gated entry opens into roughly two hectares of open grass, with agility and obstacle equipment, a water tap and bowls, bench seating, and some mature-tree shade over an otherwise sunny, open field. It sits beside the athletics track and netball complex.

Getting there. Find it on Neptune Street, near the Boys Avenue intersection and about 500 metres from Maryborough Hospital. Free on-site and street parking is generally available, though Neptune Street spots can fill on weekend mornings.

When to go. Busiest early morning and late afternoon, plus weekend mornings; quietest through the middle of the day. For an anxious dog, a weekday mid-morning is the calm window.
