Tinana Fenced Dog Park

Tinana Fenced Dog Park sits just off Gympie Road on the southern side of the Mary River, near the Bruce Highway junction, and works for two audiences at once: a proper stretch stop if you are driving through the Fraser Coast, and the regular exercise yard for Tinana locals. It is fully fenced and open around the clock.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced area, but owners keep voice control at all times. Pick up after your dog, with bags and bins provided, and remove any dog showing aggression straight away. The one habit worth building: check the gate is shut properly behind you, because this park backs onto a road and the fence line is closer to traffic than a paddock-style reserve.

What is on site

Established trees for shade, a water tap, picnic shelters and bench seating, plus some basic agility equipment. The Mary River runs just to the north, so a leashed river-side walk pairs well with the fenced session for dogs that want more than a yard. The park is a modest size rather than a sprawling reserve, which keeps play easy to supervise, and the tree cover makes summer mornings workable. The basic agility gear gives high-energy dogs a task to burn through before the social hour starts.

Max: double check the latch before you unclip. Road-adjacent fence line, so a gap matters more here than in a big park.

Getting there and parking

The park is on Gympie Road in Tinana, easily reached by car off the Bruce Highway, which is exactly what makes it useful for highway travellers cutting through to Hervey Bay or Maryborough. On-site parking is available, and there is no dedicated bus stop at the gate, so driving or a short walk from nearby Tinana streets is the way in.
