Tinana Fenced Dog Park

Tinana Fenced Dog Park sits just off Gympie Road, on the southern side of the Mary River near the Bruce Highway junction. It is a fully fenced, off-leash park, so it works well for a stretch stop if you are driving through the Fraser Coast, or for a regular local exercise run.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fenced area, but owners need to keep voice control at all times. Pick up after your dog (bags and bins are provided) and remove any dog showing aggression straight away. Check the gate is shut properly behind you, the park backs onto a road.

What's there. The park has established trees for shade, a water tap, picnic shelters and bench seating, plus some basic agility equipment. It is a modest size rather than a sprawling reserve.

Getting there. The park is on Gympie Road, easily reached by car off the Bruce Highway. On-site parking is available. There is no dedicated bus service to the gate, so driving or a short walk from nearby Tinana streets is the way in.

Nearby with the dogs. There are a few coffee options across the highway for a post-walk drink, and pet-friendly motels and caravan parks in Tinana and nearby Maryborough if you are stopping over. Confirm pet policies directly before booking.

Weeknights are the quietest time to visit; Sunday mornings and Tuesday or Friday afternoons tend to draw more dogs. The park sits well inland so tides are not a factor, but the grass can get muddy after rain.
