Latrobe Fenced Dog Park

Latrobe Fenced Dog Park sits inside Bosworth Park near the corner of Stanley and Gilbert Streets, Latrobe. It is a fully fenced, off-leash enclosure with a double-gated entry, which makes it the pick in town for a dog that needs a secure space to run.

The rules. Use the double gates so no dog slips out while another comes in. Dogs are off-leash inside the fence but must stay under effective control, and you still need to pick up after them and use the bins. The enclosure adjoins the wider Bosworth Park, so keep dogs at least 10 metres from the children's playground there. Check the on-site signage for any current conditions.

What's there. An agility course with a run of obstacles, seating and some sheltered spots for owners, maintained grass, and rubbish bins. Shade over the seating is limited, so it can get warm in summer. The broader Bosworth Park adds public toilets and drinking fountains a short walk away.

Getting there. On the corner of Stanley and Gilbert Streets, an easy drive from central Latrobe with off-street parking near Bosworth Park, and reachable on foot via the town footpaths.

Nearby with the dogs. Shadows Cafe on Gilbert Street has a dog-friendly courtyard for afterwards, and Thompsons Park by the Mersey River is close if you want open riverside space instead of the enclosure.

When to go. Weekday mid-mornings and early afternoons are the calmest; weekends and late afternoons draw the most dogs. If it is crowded and your dog is nervous, come back off-peak.
