FS Garside Park Fenced Dog Park

FS Garside Park's fenced dog area sits on Onslow Street in Granville, inside a three-hectare multi-purpose park that finished a full redevelopment in August 2024. The standout is the split design: separate zones for quiet dogs and playful dogs, which not every fenced park in Sydney's west bothers with.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fully fenced with double-gated entry, and off-leash applies only inside it; leads go back on everywhere else in the park, and the new sports turf is off limits to dogs entirely. Stay with your dog and keep it under voice control. Water fountains with dog bowls sit near the enclosure, benches line the area, and bins are provided though bringing your own bags as backup is sensible.

Max: if your dog is nervous around boisterous play, use the quiet zone instead of defaulting to the main yard. Not every fenced park gives you that option.

The vibe

The wider park gives this one a family backdrop: an adventure playground, BMX pump track, picnic shelters and electric BBQs are all within a short stroll, with toilets on the main path network. Saturday mornings and Friday evenings draw the biggest crowds; Sunday afternoons and midweek evenings are quieter. Confident dogs get a mixed crowd to play with, and calmer dogs work fine if you stick to the quiet zone.

Getting there

A dedicated 58-space car park sits on Onslow Street, generous for a suburban dog park, with accessible bays nearby. Granville station is within walking distance and connects the T1, T2 and Cumberland lines, and the park sits close to the M4 near Duck Creek. The enclosure itself is unlit at night, though the adjacent multi-use court is not.

Close by with the dogs

The Scout Memorial Park fenced dog park is the other local fenced option, and the Parramatta People's Loop adds an on-lead riverside walk for the bigger outing. For coffee, Vibe Blend Cafe is the closest listing in Granville.
