Edmonton Dog Park

Edmonton Dog Park is the fenced off-leash area inside Fuller Park on Wolff Street, serving Edmonton and Cairns' southern suburbs. The whole fenced section is off-leash from 7am to 7pm daily, with mature trees for shade and free parking right beside the gate.

The dog setup

Only the fenced, south-western section of Fuller Park is off-leash, separated from Wolff Street by a secure chain-link fence. Dogs must be leashed on the walk from the car park to the gate, and owners need to keep them under effective voice control even once they are off-leash inside.

Dogs are not permitted on the playground or on sporting fields while those areas are in use, and you need to clean up after your dog, so bring bags. Established trees throw afternoon shade over part of the grass, which matters in the tropics.

The vibe

The wider Fuller Park is a busy community space with a playground, basketball court, BMX and skate facilities and a public toilet block, so the dog park hums along as one part of a family destination. It is a local park rather than a regional showpiece, and that keeps it relaxed on weekday mornings.

Getting there

The park is on Wolff Street in Edmonton, just off the Bruce Highway's southern approach to Cairns, with a car park including accessible spaces next to the reserve. It is about 20 minutes south of the Cairns CBD.

Close by with the dogs

Henleys Hill Park Fenced Dog Park in Earlville is the next fenced option heading north toward the city, and Barrier Reef Tourist Park is the pet-friendly base for travellers passing through the southern suburbs.
