Bundoora Park Fenced Dog Park

Bundoora Park Fenced Dog Park is a compact, fully fenced off-leash enclosure at 17 Curtain Street on the southern edge of the much larger Bundoora Park. It is open 24 hours, double-gated, and run by Darebin City Council, which makes it a reliable secure option for a quick run in Melbourne's north-east.

The dog setup

The enclosure runs roughly 45 by 30 metres, mostly grass with worn dirt patches through the middle from steady use. A small agility course with a set of obstacles sits in one corner, and there is a drinking fountain with an integrated dog bowl, bench seating, waste bags and bins.

Leads come off inside the fence only; the surrounding parkland is on-lead under Darebin rules. Latch the outer gate before opening the inner one, stay inside with your dog, and take any dog that turns aggressive straight out.

Max: the middle of the pen bakes on a hot afternoon and shade is thin. Bring water and go early or late so nobody is standing on hot, worn dirt.

Worth knowing

Sunday mornings are the busiest slot and weekday mornings the quietest, when an active dog can have the space and the agility gear to itself. This is a park for a fast, contained run rather than a long ramble, so pair it with a walk through the wider Bundoora Park if your dog needs more distance.

Getting there and parking

The entrance is an easy turn off Plenty Road, with free street parking on Curtain Street right beside the gate. For public transport, the Route 86 tram along Plenty Road stops within walking distance of the entrance.

While you are out there
