Jordans Crossing

Jordans Crossing is a bushland reserve in Bundanoon, a short flat walk from the village centre, with open grassy space and creek access alongside the fenced off-leash dog park that now sits within the same reserve. It is a quiet neighbourhood spot that covers both styles of visit: secure play inside the fence and a freer wander outside it.

The dog setup

The fenced facility, upgraded by Wingecarribee Shire Council with community grant funding, has two separately fenced zones so big and small dogs can play in their own company, plus dog-specific drinking fountains, waste bag dispensers, bins and bench shelters. A children's play area sits alongside. Away from the enclosure, the reserve is general parkland, so dogs must be on lead there and under effective control. The open areas are unfenced, so reliable recall matters, particularly near the road and rail line.

Pepsi: the creek is a nice cool-down on a warm day, just do not count on it running high. Some visits it is barely a trickle.

Worth knowing

Creek access gives dogs somewhere to wade or swim, though water quality varies after rain, so use judgement before letting your dog in. Seating outside the fenced area is minimal, so bring a blanket or chairs if you are staying a while. Waste bins are on site but everything else you need, including water for the open-ground part of the visit, comes with you.

Getting there and parking

The reserve is an easy, mostly flat walk south from the village along Railway Avenue, or a short drive with gravel parking on site and street parking along Bindar Crescent near the fenced park. Bundanoon railway station on the Southern Highlands line is within walking distance, which makes a car-free visit realistic.

When to go

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest; the playground and dog park draw families and locals on weekend mornings. The reserve suits dogs that are reliable off-lead outside the fence, while boundary-testers are better kept inside the enclosures.
