Baden Powell Reserve

Baden Powell Reserve is a fully fenced, off-leash dog park in Bradbury, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with double-gated entry and agility equipment on site. It is Campbelltown's purpose-built dog facility rather than a corner of a shared reserve, and it shows in the setup.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash only inside the fenced area, staying on the leash on the way in and out and across the rest of the reserve. Campbelltown City Council requires every dog to be under the effective control of a person 16 or older, caps it at four dogs per person, and requires any dog classified as dangerous or menacing to stay muzzled and leashed. Sick or unwell dogs and females in heat stay home. Agility gear includes tunnels and ramps, and there is a water station, covered seating, on-site toilets and free parking. Dispensers are not provided, so bring your own waste bags.

Pepsi: a fenced park with agility gear is a proper outing, not just a toilet stop. Bring a ball and make a session of it.

Worth knowing

Make sure the double-gated entry latches behind you; the airlock only works when both gates are used properly. Weekday mornings and evenings are the quiet windows, while weekends get busier with local families, so an early start suits a dog that prefers fewer playmates.

Getting there and parking

The fenced facility is reached off Walburga Close, Bradbury, adjacent to the broader reserve near St Johns Road and Badgally Road. By car it is an easy run in via Appin Road or Campbelltown Road, with parking on site. Campbelltown Station and local bus services are within reach if you are coming without a car.

The Parkway Perk Cafe and Phams Noodle House has outdoor seating for a coffee before or after, and Mary Brookes Reserve Fenced Dog Park in nearby St Helens Park is another fenced off-leash option worth a look.
