Capulet Espresso

Capulet Espresso is a compact espresso bar at 4/56 King Street, Woody Point, a short block back from the Redcliffe Peninsula waterfront. It opens early and wraps up by early afternoon, which puts it neatly on the map as the first stop after a morning walk rather than the last.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the street-side tables along King Street, on leash, while the small interior stays for ordering. There is a customer restroom on site and the entrance and outdoor seating are wheelchair accessible. The space is tight, so a dog that settles quickly beside your chair does best here. Water is usually available but carry your own bowl as backup.

The vibe

The drinks list goes beyond flat whites: specialty espresso, chai, smoothies, thickshakes and seasonal specials such as iced matcha. Food is a focused run of acai bowls, avocado toast, toasties and cabinet treats, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives marked. Weekday doors open at 6am, weekends at 7am, and everything wraps by 1pm at the latest.

Max: Toastie for me, acai bowl for the human, and I still make the 8am foreshore loop.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking lines King Street and the side streets, though weekend mornings tighten up, so allow a short walk from the car.

Close by with the dogs

The Woody Point foreshore path runs a couple of minutes away with flat water views towards the Houghton Highway bridge. For a proper off-lead run, Kroll Gardens fenced dog park at Clontarf has a separate small-dog enclosure and water stations. The Belvedere on the waterfront is the pick when coffee needs to become lunch.
