Lola's Locale

Lola's Locale is a deli-style cafe at Shop 2, 45-53 Kembla Street in the Wollongong CBD, near the ATO offices, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating out front. It is built for a quick, quality lunch or coffee stop on a walk through town rather than a long sit-down.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the footpath tables along Kembla Street, not inside the dining area. The cafe is welcoming to dogs at its outdoor seating, though water and treats vary by the day, so bring your own bowl to be safe.

The food

The draw is the deli cabinet: Italian-style gourmet paninis, house-made deli and protein salad bowls, poke-style bowls, pastries and sweets like sausage rolls, backed by in-house roasted specialty coffee. Seating is roomy across the indoor and outdoor areas, and there is a wheelchair-accessible entrance with dine-in and takeaway service.

Getting there and hours

Street parking nearby is paid and time-limited, and the Wollongong Central car parks are a short walk when the kerb is full. The cafe opens 7am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday and caters heavily to the weekday office crowd; weekend trading is limited, so check its socials before a Saturday visit.

Close by with the dogs

The CBD streets and the foreshore paths towards the water make an easy on-lead loop. For real off-lead time, Coniston Dog Beach is a short drive south, where dogs can run off-lead on the sand toward Port Kembla Harbour. For other coffee stops, Opus Coffee Brewers is a city alternative and Bread, Espresso & sits just out of the CBD at Gwynneville.
