Ruby Collective

Ruby Collective is a casual, community-minded cafe at 170 Railway Parade in West Leederville, tucked at the bottom of the WALGA building. It is a newer addition to the strip, still building its name, and the reason locals seek it out is the food: fresh, home-style plates and a Vietnamese-leaning menu where the banh mi, pork belly version especially, gets glowing word of mouth.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, on a lead, with the dog-friendly space limited to outside. Check in with staff when you arrive, particularly around the entrance, and bring your own water bowl to be safe. It is a compact, straightforward setup rather than a destination courtyard.

Worth knowing

Hours are weekdays only, from 7am to mid afternoon, so this is a working-week stop: coffee on the school run or a banh mi at lunch. Street parking runs along Railway Parade and the side streets, mind the time-limit signs, and the train station is close if you are walking in.

Close by with the dogs

Lake Monger Reserve is a short trip away for the real walk: the loop path is on-lead, but the Lake Monger Dog Park on its edge is a semi-enclosed off-leash space with double-gated entry and dog bowls at the fountains. Back on the strip, Piccolo's Corner and Butters are the suburb's other dog-friendly cafe options.
