Dôme Café - Wanneroo

Dome Cafe Wanneroo is the reliable all-day option at Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre, and it runs the standard Dome setup that dog owners across Perth know well: dogs are welcome at the alfresco tables, inside is off limits apart from assistance dogs. It is the easy pick when you want a long menu and a guaranteed seat outside, seven days a week.

The dog setup

The alfresco area is dog-friendly and you can usually reach it straight from the shopping centre walkways without dragging your dog through the indoor dining room. Staff are used to dogs and will often bring out a water bowl on request, but the bowl is not guaranteed, so throwing a collapsible one in the car is the safe play. Keep your dog on lead and close to the table; the alfresco gets foot traffic from shoppers.

The vibe and the menu

Hours run long, from 6am to 9pm daily, so it covers everything from early breakfast through to an after-dinner coffee. The menu is the familiar Dome spread all day, and locals rate the fritter stack with hollandaise and the milkshakes; almond milk and chai are on hand for the non-standard orders. Music can run at a decent volume when the centre is busy, which is worth knowing if your dog is noise sensitive.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 34, 950 Wanneroo Road, inside Wanneroo Central, with free shopping centre parking a few steps away. Mid-morning on a weekday is the calmest window; the alfresco fills with shopping traffic around lunch and on weekends. If you want to make an outing of it, the fenced run at Edgar Griffiths Dog Park is about five minutes by car, and Nook & Co. Cafe over in Wangara is another dog-welcoming outdoor option nearby.
