Jamie's Kitchen Coffee and Food sits at 1 Park Lane in Waitara, overlooking the oval right by the PCYC, and it is a genuine dog friendly stop: shaded outdoor seating where a leashed dog settles in beside you while you work through a Campos flat white and an all day brunch menu.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the shaded outdoor section facing the oval, which is the reliable option. Listings also flag dogs allowed inside, but treat that as a maybe rather than a given and ask the staff on arrival. Keep the lead short and the dog clear of the walkway between tables.

The vibe

The kitchen runs from 6am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 6.30am Sunday, so it covers breakfast through dinner, with halloumi eggs benedict, banana bread and tteokbokki among the signatures. Service is friendly and the setting is relaxed and family oriented, with the park doing a lot of the atmosphere work.

Getting there and parking

There is a free parking lot plus free street parking nearby, and Waitara train station is an easy walk, which makes this a workable coffee stop even without a car.

The oval makes an instant pre or post coffee run around, and if a fenced session is on the list, Asquith Park Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes north. Cedarwood Cafe in Wahroonga is the nearby alternative for another dog friendly table.
