Evolve Wahroonga

Evolve is an all-day brunch cafe on Railway Avenue in the Wahroonga village, a short walk from the station, and it has one of the stronger coffee reputations on the Upper North Shore. Dogs are welcome at the street-side tables out front, which makes it a natural stop on a village walk.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor seating on the Railway Avenue footpath; the indoor room is people only. Staff have a good reputation for being attentive to dogs, but bring your own water bowl to be safe during the morning rush. Keep your dog on a short lead and tucked in close to the table, since this is a working footpath with prams and commuters passing through.

Worth knowing

The menu covers the full day: the Evolve bowls, shakshuka, eggs benedict, French toast and the brisket burger get named often, with an açai bowl and solid vegan and vegetarian options alongside. It opens early, 6am on weekdays and Saturday and 7am on Sunday, and closes mid afternoon. Early is also when the footpath tables are easiest to get.

Getting there and parking

The address is Shop 1, 9a Railway Avenue, right by Wahroonga Station. There is free street parking around the village plus a free parking lot nearby, though the strip is at its busiest in school and commute hours.

Close by with the dogs

Wahroonga Dog Park and Frances O'Brien Dog Park both give you an off-lead run before coffee, and Cedarwood Cafe is the same-strip alternative when the footpath is full.
