C9 Chocolate & Gelato Wahroonga

C9 Chocolate & Gelato occupies Shop 4 at 26-28 Railway Avenue, a few steps from Wahroonga Station, and it solves a small problem most dessert shops ignore: the dog gets dessert too. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables, and the counter sells a dedicated dog-friendly frozen treat called Pup Pops.

The dog setup

Take one of the outdoor tables on the footpath; the main shop inside is people only. Service out front is quick, so a short stop between walks is easy, and staff are used to handing orders across to the tables. Ask at the counter for a Pup Pop: it is a sugar-free, salt-free frozen pop made for dogs, so the trip works without sharing your own gelato.

Worth knowing

The house-made Belgian chocolate gelato and sorbet carry the name, with brownies, tiramisu, croffles and acai bowls filling out the cabinet. The lemon gelato and dark hot chocolate come up often in reviews. Hours run midday to around 9pm, slightly later on Friday and Saturday nights, which makes this an evening-walk stop as much as an afternoon one.

Getting there and parking

Railway Avenue sits directly beside Wahroonga Station, so arriving by train or on foot from the village is straightforward. Free street parking is available along Railway Avenue and the surrounding streets, and the block is flat and easy to walk with a dog.

Close by with the dogs

Wahroonga Park, near the station end of the village, is a pleasant leashed stroll with a fenced playground alongside. For proper off-leash time, Frances O'Brien Dog Park and the Wahroonga Dog Park are the local dedicated areas, with Golden Jubilee Field in North Wahroonga operating time-shared off-leash hours under Ku-ring-gai Council rules.
