What visitors mention
Windows On Westella is a licensed cafe on a rural property at 100 Westella Drive, just off the Bass Highway on the edge of Ulverstone, and it has one of the most generous dog setups on the coast: a tree-shaded courtyard, a verandah and a big fenced grassy area out the back where staff will serve you.
The dog setup. Bring the dog to the courtyard, the shaded verandah or the open grassed area behind the cafe; table service reaches all three. Staff have a reputation for being accommodating, but bring your own water bowl to be safe.
Good to know. This is the home of Tasmanian Pickled Onions, with wine from the property's Broad Acres Vineyard and local craft beer on the list. The waffles are the reviewer favourite, with the lemon curd pavlova waffle and the corn fritter waffles named repeatedly. Open daily roughly 8.30am to 3.30pm; confirm hours before a special trip.
Getting there. On-site parking, a short drive from the town centre.
Nearby with the dogs. Pair it with the foreshore in town, then a pup cup at Beach Hut Coffee opposite the beach.
The grassed area makes this the pick for big dogs that need room to flop, and the shade keeps it workable in summer.
