Hidden Gem Coffee is a laidback local favourite on Station Street in Tugun, opposite the bowls club, and a short walk from the beach.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, undercover seating area, with hooks out front to clip a lead to while you order inside. Water bowls are generally out, and staff are used to a treat request for a well-behaved dog.

Known for. Strong, consistent Paradox Coffee, pork ragu toasties, sourdough sandwiches and a solid cheeseburger. It has a cozy, funky feel with a loyal local crowd.

Getting there and parking. Tucked into a row of shops on Station Street. Street parking is available along Station Street and side streets, with room for larger vehicles too.

Nearby with the dogs. Tugun Beach is about 300 to 400 metres away for a stroll after coffee, and O'Connor Park is a short walk if your dog needs a stretch break first.

Weekday mornings are the easy window; weekends get busier from opening, so arrive early for a table.
